About GreenPaw

What GreenPaw is

GreenPaw is a pet-care and lifestyle website for people who are bringing home their first dog or cat, especially households in apartments and small spaces. The site collects what a new owner actually needs to do, in forms that can be followed: week-by-week preparation checklists, room-by-room safety walks, feeding and care decision guides, and a few small browser tools.

The site covers dogs and cats, with an emphasis on daily care, behavior, and travel that fits city life. Guides are written for readers in the United States, Europe, and the United Kingdom.

Who runs GreenPaw

GreenPaw is an independently run and operated editorial project, published under the GreenPaw name as an organization rather than under a named individual. No team size, founding date, or credentials are claimed here beyond what is true: the site is operated independently, outside any larger company or pet brand.

GreenPaw does not sell products and does not accept payment for coverage. Nothing on this site is placed because someone paid for it.

How our guides are made

Every guide starts with a question a reader actually has, “what do I need before the puppy arrives” or “how many litter boxes do I really need.” Drafting is automation-assisted, and every draft is reviewed, edited, and fact-checked by a human before it is published. Automation is a writing aid; it is not the editor.

Claims are tied to named sources from a defined whitelist, organizations such as the AKC, ASPCA, AAFCO, and FDA, humane societies, and veterinary behavior resources, and where a date-sensitive policy or source was independently checked, the page records the check date. Numbers that cannot be verified against a source are labeled as approximate. The site does not publish star ratings, user counts, sales figures, or “we tested” claims, because we do not run product tests and we do not make up numbers.

Responsibility

GreenPaw takes responsibility for what it publishes: claims are sourced, boundaries are stated, and confirmed errors are corrected and dated. Health-related pages point to a veterinarian instead of offering diagnoses, and pages that touch health carry a notice to that effect.

What GreenPaw does not do

  • It does not diagnose illnesses, prescribe treatments, or give dosing advice.
  • It does not rank products or name “best” brands, brand choices depend on your pet, your vet, and your budget.
  • It does not publish user reviews, testimonials, or customer counts.

Corrections

Factual errors happen. When a mistake is found and confirmed, the page is corrected and its update date moves with the change. To report an error, see the contact page, the fastest way is to include the article URL and, if you have one, a source.
