Editorial Policy
What this policy covers
This page explains how GreenPaw chooses topics, where its information comes from, how claims are checked and dated, and how mistakes get fixed. It is the public record of the site’s editorial standards, and it is reviewed whenever those standards change.
Who the site is for
GreenPaw is written for people raising their first dog or cat, mostly in apartments and small homes, and mostly in the United States, Europe, and the United Kingdom. Topics are chosen from the questions those readers actually face, and each guide is built around something the reader can do: a checklist, a comparison, a plan.
How guides are made
Drafting on GreenPaw is automation-assisted, and every piece is reviewed, edited, and checked by a human before publication. Automation helps with structure and wording; it does not decide what is true. The human review covers accuracy, sourcing, safety of the advice, and whether the piece stays inside the site’s boundaries.
Sources we rely on
Claims on GreenPaw are tied to named sources. The whitelist of preferred sources is:
- American Kennel Club (AKC): dog care and breed information
- ASPCA: pet care, home safety, and emergency guidance
- Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO): pet food definitions and labeling standards
- U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA): pet food regulation and label rules
- Humane societies: national and regional animal-welfare organizations
- Veterinary behavior resources: guidance from veterinary behavior specialists and recognized behavior-consultant organizations
This is a whitelist, not a complete inventory. A source outside it may still be cited when it is the right authority for a specific question (for example, an airline’s official policy in a travel guide) and every source is named on the page so readers can check it themselves.
Checking and dating
Every factual claim that can be tied to a source is marked with that source, and sources carry the date they were last checked. When a number cannot be verified against a source (a typical local price, for instance) it is labeled as approximate and readers are told to verify locally.
Review rhythm
Pet-care guidance changes, so pages are re-checked on a rolling schedule, at least quarterly for pages that involve health, safety, or rules such as airline policies. When a re-check changes a page, the page’s “last updated” date moves with the change, so readers can see when a fact was last confirmed.
What we do not publish
- Diagnoses, treatment instructions, or dosing advice. Health questions are directed to a veterinarian.
- Product rankings, “best” lists, or endorsements. We do not run product tests and we do not claim to.
- Star ratings, user counts, sales figures, testimonials, or other numbers we cannot back with a real source.
- Species or breed comparisons that rank one animal “better” than another.
Corrections
To report an error, email the operator at jitendarmahto845416@gmail.com with the page URL, what looks wrong, and a source if you have one. Confirmed errors are corrected and the page’s update date is changed so the fix is traceable. If a report cannot be verified, the page is left unchanged and the reporter is told why. Significant corrections are summarized on the page itself near the change.
Independence
GreenPaw is independently operated. It does not accept payment for coverage, does not run sponsored posts, and has no affiliate or commission arrangements with the brands or services mentioned in its pages. Advertising on the site is visually separated from editorial content and never influences what we publish.
Disclaimer
GreenPaw content is general information for everyday pet care, not veterinary advice. Always consult your veterinarian about your own pet’s health, diet, or behavior.
