CONVERT / CSV AND JSON
Reshape the rows.
Paste CSV with a header row or a JSON array of objects. Conversion happens in this tab; text is not sent to a conversion service.
Maximum input size: 1 MB. CSV needs a header row; JSON needs an array of objects.
Object keys follow the CSV headers. CSV cells remain strings; nested JSON values are serialized inside one CSV cell.
QUOTES MATTER
Commas, line breaks and quotes inside a CSV field need quoting. Inside a quoted field, a literal quote is written twice. For example, ""hello"" inside a quoted cell becomes the text “hello” with quotation marks.
WHAT THIS CONVERTER KEEPS
CSV has no built-in number or date types, so cells stay text in the JSON result. Duplicate or blank header names are rejected because they cannot reliably identify object properties. Empty CSV rows are ignored. Spreadsheet apps may interpret cells beginning with =, +, - or @ as formulas; review untrusted values before opening a CSV export.
